On the 16th of August, political leaders and parties paid tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the former Prime Minister of India, on his 1st death anniversary.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India, along with other BJP leaders, reached the memorial of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, named Saidev Atal and paid their tribute in Delhi.
On the 16th of August 2018, Atal Bihari Vajpayee passed away at the age of 93. He was one of the founders of the Janata Party in 1977, which later turned into the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)
Atal Bihari Vajpayee also served as the President of the BJP after the Party’s formation, from 1980 to 1986.
Namita Kaul Bhattacharya, his adopted daughter and Niharika, the granddaughter of Vajpayee, were also present during the event organised to remember Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Playback singer Hariharan performed at the event organised at the memorial, which was inaugurated on the 25th of December 2018, which was the 94th birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
