Priyanka Gandhi Meets Family Of Farmer Who Lost Life During 26th January Tractor Rally

On the 4th of February, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the Indian National Congress (INC) leader visited Rampur district in Uttar Pradesh. 

Ms. Priyanka Gandhi met with the family members of 27 year old Navneet Singh, who died during the 26th January Republic Day Tractor rally violence.

Navneet Singh was protesting with the farmers, who called for the tractor rally against the three farm laws of the Central Government.

Navneet Singh died in the clash after his tractor overturned after ramming into a barricade. Delhi Police had released CCTV footage showing the farmer’s tractor overturning after ramming into the barricades

Priyanka Gandhi was accompanied by a few leaders of the INC.

Ms. Gandhi was also seen interacting with the late farmers’ family.

Meanwhile, the Former INC President Rahul Gandhi also extended support to farmers and conducted three press conferences in the last 15 days.

Mr. Gandhi also demanded to repeal the farm laws passed by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Central Government.

This is not the first time that the INC showed support to the farmers and criticised the Central Government.

During the ongoing Parliament Budget Session also, the Members of Parliament (MPs) of the INC staged a protest and walked out of the session. Resulting to this, the Parliament session, both the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha was adjourned on the 3rd of February.
