In Pune, the Shivajinagar Police reported a sexual assault case of a minor, on the 24th of March, Thursday.

According to sources, an 11 year old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by an unidentified person in a private school premises.  The incident took place on the afternoon of the 23rd of March, Wednesday, in Shivajinagar area of Pune, Maharashtra.

After the incident, the victim, told her about the sexual assualt, which later reached to the school authorities,  The school officials, informed minor’s parents about the sexual assault, following which they registered a case with the Shivajinagar Police.

Shivajinagar Police Station’s Senior Inspector Ms. Anita More said, “An unidentified person took the girl to a toilet in the school premises where he allegedly assaulted her sexually and then fled.  The girl later informed her friends about the incident.  The school then informed her parents and police.” 

The police has registered a case under the Indian Penal Code Section 376 (rape) and provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Furthermore, the police launched an investigation and are currently examining CCTV footage of the school premises.
