According to sources, Mr. Rahul Gandhi, the former President of the INC and the delegation of the Bharat Jodo Yatra concluded the yatra in Maharashtra and entered Madhya Pradesh.

The yatra would resume today after a two day break from Boderli village in the Burhanpur district of Madhya Pradesh.  A large number of Congress leaders and workers including Madhya Pradesh Congress president Mr. Kamal Nath participated in the yatra on the first day in Madhya Pradesh.  Moreover, Ms. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is also scheduled to join her brother Mr. Rahul Gandhi and participate in the yatra, against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)  With this Bharat Jodo Yatra, the INC would cover Indian states and districts, raising voices against unemployment, the rule of the BJP, violence, attack on democracy and hikes in prices of essential commodities.

According to sources, on the 24th of November, the Bharat Jodo Yatra entered its 77th day.

Congress General Secretary Incharge of Communication Jairam Ramesh said that the yatra will go through seven districts of the state over the next 11 days in Madhya Pradesh.

Mr. Jairam Ramesh said, “Today is the 77th day of Bharat Jodo Yatra as it resumes from near Burhanpur in southwestern MP. Burhanpur has a long history and became an important place during the Mughal rule, especially during Shah Jahan’s reign. The Yatra will go through 7 districts of MP over the next 11 days.”  He further said, “One sixth of Burhanpur district’s cultivated area is covered with bananas and it’s also one of the centres of the power loom industry. Rahul Gandhi will be interacting with banana growers and power loom workers today afternoon.”

Ahead of the yatra, Mr. Rahul Gandhi said,  “When we started yatra, then the opposition had said that India is 3,600 km long and this cannot be achieved by marching.  Now we have entered Madhya Pradesh.  We will cover a distance of 370 km.  We have started the Bharat Jodo Yatra by taking the tricolour in our hands from Kanyakumari and we will host the tricolour in Srinagar and nobody can stop us. ”  He further said that the yatra is against hatred, violence and fear being spread in the country.

It is to be noted, started on the 7th of September, the Congress’s Bharat Jodo Yatra is getting support from various political parties and social organizations across the country.  This is also the longest march launched from Kanyakumari and is scheduled to end in Kashmir in 2023.

Besides political leaders, celebrities and other organisations also extended support and walked with the Congress leader in their respective states, where it entered.

Till now, the INC led Bharat Jodo Yatra covered Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Maharashtra.  Furthermore, after concluding the march in Madhya Pradesh, the INC delegation would enter Rajasthan.
