On the 7th of September, Tuesday, the former President of the Indian National Congress (INC) Mr. Rahul Gandhi urged the Central Government to postpone the NEET exam 2021.
On the 7th of September, Tuesday, Mr. Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter and called for the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) 2021 exam. The National Test Agency (NTA) announced the conduct of the NEET, the entrance exam for the medical field, on the 12th of September. In addition, the Supreme Court also refused to interfere in the matter and dismissed the petition filed by students, urging postponement of the NEET examination.
After the Supreme Court’s order, Rahul Gandhi took a dig at the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government and said, the Government is blind to students. He also asked the Government to let the students ”have a fair chance” in the exams.
Mr. Rahul Gandhi’s tweet read ” (The) GOI is blind to students’ distress. Postpone NEET exam. Let them have a fair chance.”
The students demanded to postpone the NEET exams on the 12th of September, as it would create a pressure on students. In addition they also argued regarding the pattern of the examination, which is of 200 questions and needed to be done in the span of 2.5 hours. Another major reason for demanding postponement is pressure on students, who would be attempting several competitive exams scheduled 7-15 days close to the NEET examination.
Meanwhile, as per the SC court hearing yesterday, they would not interfere in the matter, but asked the petitioner to file a representation of the issue to the NTA.
A final decision would be taken by the NTA, based on the representation of students
Therefore, as of now on the 12th of September, NEET examination 2021 would be conducted for lakhs of students.
