South superstar Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, the President of the Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM,) are likely to form an alliance for the upcoming Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.
Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan addressed the media and gave a hint about their collaboration. Mr. Haasan, on the 19th of November, said, “Rajini and I will travel together if there is a need for Tamil Nadu’s development. If there is a need for travelling together we will tell. Now, work is important. We can talk about our policies later. We are together for 43 years, we joining together is no miracle (sic.)”
On the same day, at the Chennai Airport, Rajinikanth responded positively to Kamal Haasan’s statement and said, “If there is a situation that requires for the development of the Tamil people, I would join hands with Kamal Haasan.”
This is not the first time Kamal Haasan requested Rajinikanth for his support. During the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Haasan’s party sought to form an alliance with Rajinikanth. However, back then, Rajinikanth said he could not do so.
The Tamil Nadu Assembly elections for 235 seats are due in 2021.
