The former driver of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, Khatta Singh approached the CBI today and stated he wanted to retract his previous statement. The former driver came to Court today and recorded a fresh statement against the leader of Dera Sacha Sauda in the double murder case.

The CBI has decided 22nd September as the next date of hearing for Khatta Singh’s application.

Final arguments on the case were held at the Panchkula court today and Ram Rahim attended the hearing via video-conferencing.

Ram Rahim is being accused of two murders, one of Journalist Chhatrapati from Sirsa who was shot in October 2002. The journalist was killed soon after one of his newspapers ‘Poora Sach’ released an anonymous letter that narrated about how the women at the Dera headquarters were physically exploited.

The second murder case against Ram Rahim is that of former Dera Manager Ranjit Singh who was shot dead in 2002. The prosecution at court has stated that Ranjit Singh was murdered as he was involved in circulating the letter with the physical exploitation allegations.

Khatta Singh in 2011 gave a statement in which he said that Ram Rahim had nothing to do with the murder of Ranjit Singh. But now he has come out and said that he and his son were threatened by Ram Rahim.
