The Republic Day (R-Day) parade is set to begin 30 minutes late, from scheduled 10:00 A.M., on the 26th of January. This would be the first time that the parade would begin late, amid the imposed Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions. In addition, the parade usually begins after homage paid to security personnel who lost lives in Jammu and Kashmir.
An official confirmed the same and said, Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, would visit Jammu and Kashmir and paid homage to security personnel who died on line of duty, at War memorial, Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, beginning from 10:30 A.M., the 90-minute-long parade at the Red Fort, Delhi would showcase diversity of India on the R-Day with cultural events and Tableaus marching.
In addition, this year, the Union Government is likely to invite leaders from Central Asian countries, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan as chief guests.
Notably, this year India would celebrate 75th Republic Day celebration on the 26th of January.
