New 200 Notes to Be Circulated by Tomorrow

The government sent an issue giving the Reserve Bank the green signal to start issuing Rs. 200 notes. This step will help ease the pressure on lesser denomination currency notes.

The Finance Ministry sent out a notification that said it was making the change on the consultation of the Central Board of Directors of the RBI. The notification also read, ”The Central Government hereby specifies the denomination of bank notes of the value of two hundred rupees.”

According to a few sources the Rs. 200 is to be circulated tomorrow to help with the currency problem in India.

The 200 note will be under the New Mahatma Gandhi series with Dr. Urhit R. Patel’s signature with the motif of Sanji Stupa.

Ever since the Demonetization in November last year, the RBI has only issued 2000 and 500 notes. Once the 200 notes are put into circulation the problem many citizens are facing with high value notes will reduce.

The RBI has also issued a new Rs. 50 note which is fluorescent blue in color and has the motif of ‘Hampi with Chariot’ a memento of our culture.
