On Tuesday, former state TDP working President Revanth Reddy officially joined Congress party. After Revanth Reddy resigned from TDP on Saturday, he joined the opposition party in the presence of Vice President Rahul Gandhi.
Surprisingly it was not just Reddy who joined Congress but 16 other former senior members of TDP. The politicians who joined were Rajaram Yadav, Boda Janardhan, Vaddepalli Subhash Reddy, ex-MLA Seethakka, former MLA Chinthakunta Vijaya Ramana Rao and Vempally Narendar Reddy.
The official ceremony was conducted at Rahul Gandhi’s residence in New Delhi. Senior Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Uttam Kumar Reddy was present at the ceremony.
It is being speculated that Revanth Reddy quit TDP because N Chandrababu Naidu planned to form an alliance with TRS for the 2019 general elections.
