Earlier this year, the Samsung Galaxy S8 released and the sale of the phone has been skyrocketing. The phone managed to become the top shipping Andriod smart phone of 2017.
In just the second quarter of 2017, a total of 19.2 Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ was shipped out according to the Strategy Analytics report. The research firm stated, “Samsung’s Galaxy S8 has instantly become the world’s most popular Android smartphone model, due to its attractive curved-screen design, a rich portfolio of software apps, and best-in-class retail distribution across dozens of countries.”
Despite Samsung phones getting sold old in this year iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus remain as the best selling smartphone models for global shipments.
The Strategic Analytics also mentioned in its report, “We estimate Apple iPhone 7 shipped 16.9 million units and captured 5 percent market share worldwide in Q2 2017. The iPhone 7 remains the world’s most popular smartphone model overall, due to a compelling blend of user-friendly design, extensive supporting apps, and widespread retail presence for the device. Apple iPhone 7 Plus, with its bigger screen and higher pricing, shipped 15.1 million units for second place and 4 percent market share worldwide in Q2 2017.”
