Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting China for the two day Shanghai Coorperation Organization (SCO) Summit. The summit that begins today is being held in Qingdao.  

Mr. Modi will hold bilateral meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The two leaders will discuss trade and investment and the overall relationship between India and China. Modi was in China 6 weeks ago where he held an informal summit in Wuhan city in China with the Chinese President.

The main members of the SCO are China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Pakistan and Russia. The observatory members are Belarus, Mongolia, Iran and Afghanistan.

The leaders of the 8 SCO member states will participate in the Summit along with the four observer states. The heads of international organizations are also invited to this Summit.

This Summit will concentrate on methods to curb terrorism, radicalisation and extremism. They will also deliberate on global issues related to each country.

PM Modi will hold bilateral talks with a number of leaders who attend the Summit. However, the schedule is yet to confirm if Modi will meet Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain.
