Sharad Pawar Undergoes Gallbladder Surgery

On the 31st of, the family of Sharad Pawar, the President of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP,) informed about his post surgery situation. The family said, Mr. Sharad Pawar’s surgery for gallbladder stone was successful.  

Mr. Pawar was admitted at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on the 30th of March. He complained of abdominal pain, following which he underwent a surgery. Initially, Mr. Pawar was scheduled to be operated on the 1st of April and admitted today, the 31st of March. However, due to his worsening health conditions, he was rushed to the hospital.

After the operation, Supriya Sule tweeted a photo of herself with Mr. Pawar and said, “Good Morning! Thanking all the doctors, nurses and the entire team at Breach Candy Hospital. Pawar Saheb is doing what he loves the most – reading his morning newspapers!”

Meanwhile, a team of medicos led by Amit Maydeo, a gastroenterologist and endoscopy expert conducted the surgery and said he is stable.

Several members of the NCP including Baramati Member of the Legislative Assembly(MLA) P. Supriya Sule, nephew, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, grand-nephew and MLA Rohit Pawar, besides other top leaders and close associates, were present at the hospital.

The Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope said, “Pawar Saheb is doing well after the operation. Stone has been removed from the gallbladder successfully. It was done through endoscopy.”

Top leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray, the NCP and the Indian National Congress (INC) leaders, Bharat Ratna Awardee Lata Mangeshkar and others had enquired after Sharad Pawar’s health and wished him a speedy recovery.
