The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) led Maharashtra Government is likely to face collapse after the Shiv Sena Cabinet minister Ekanth Shinde, along with 10 Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) is missing.

On the 21st of June, Tuesday, the Shiv Sena leader Mr. Sanjay Raut confirmed the developments and said, “Efforts are being made to topple the MVA government but BJP has to remember that Maharashtra is very different from Rajasthan or Madhya Pradesh.”

Reacting to the recent turn of events, the Indian National Congress (INC) leader Mr. Prithviraj Chavan said, “Let’s not go into ifs and buts. Voting (MLC) took place only yesterday. Our majority (numbers) has gone down a little, it is a matter of concern.”

The situation and ruckus in the Shiv Sena party could result in political turmoil, in Maharashtra.  In addition, the unreachable leaders of the party are said to be residing in a five star hotel of Surat, Gujarat.  Furthermore, upset with the ruling MVA Government, Mr. Eknath Shinde is likely to address a press conference and update about the situation from Surat.  Moreover, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) claimed that there is a crisis among the Shiv Sena, the National Congress Party (NCP) and the Indian National Congress alliance, Maharashtra.  However, the INC leader Mr. Nana Patole blamed the BJP and said, “BJP misuses its power, they are taking the Indian democracy towards untruthfulness.  I am sure the truth will win.  I have called a meeting of all Maharashtra Congress leaders today.”

On the other hand, Mr. Uddhav Thackeray, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, called for an urgent meeting on the 21st of June.  All the MLAs, Members of the Legislative Council (MLCs) and leaders were asked to be present in the meeting, strictly to discuss the ongoing situation.
