Bollywood and Music industry is in shock after the sudden demise of the singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, who is popularly known as KK.
On the 31st of May, Tuesday, KK died hours after a concert in Kolkata. The singer collapsed at the hotel where he was staying after the concert in Kolkata’s Nazrul Mancha auditorium. He was rushed to the Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI) Hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.
KK started his singing career in 1999, with his debut album Pal, and became a sensation among teens in the 1990s. He gained fame with his playback singing in the Bollywood film industry. Some of the evergreen hits of KK are Khuda Jaane, Tu Hi Meri Shab Hai and Awarapan Banjarapan. Tadap Tadap Ke from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam was one of his early hits.
In his singing career, KK has recorded songs in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Bengali
The demise of KK had left people, political leaders and celebrities in shock. Twitter is flooded with condolence messages with #KK.
Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi posted a tweet and said, “Saddened by the untimely demise of noted singer Krishnakumar Kunnath popularly known as KK. His songs reflected a wide range of emotions as struck a chord with people of all age groups. We will always remember him through his songs. Condolences to his family and fans. Om Shanti.”
Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar said, “Extremely sad and shocked to know of the sad demise of KK. What a loss! Om Shanti.”
Meanwhile, his body would be sent for postmortem after getting consent from the family. Furthermore, the Kolkata Police registered a case of unnatural death and is investigating the matter. They is probing the CCTV Footage of the New Market Hotel where KK was residing in Kolkata, as he was scheduled for concerts in Kolkata for two days, the 30th of May, the 31st of May.
