On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj decided to grant pending medical visas to all the deserving cases. The Minister granted medical visas to a number of requests coming in from Pakistani nationals.

Ms. Swaraj responded to a Pakistani woman named Amna Shamin who wants to visit her father in Delhi. The woman’s father is undergoing treatment in India and Swaraj accepted, “Please contact Indian High Commission in Pakistan. We will allow this.”

The Minister Tweeted this morning, “On the auspicious occasion of Deepawali, India will grant medical visa in all deserving cases pending today.”

On Wednesday, Swaraj granted a medical visa for a Pakistani child who needs a post liver transplant evaluation. The Minister Tweeted, “The treatment of your child must not suffer for want of medicine. I have asked Indian High Commission to issue medical visa. @ChachaKashif.”

Another case of a Pakistani woman who requires a liver surgery in India was granted. Sushma Swaraj gave the gift of life on this wonderful occasion regardless of the long standing issues with Pakistan.
