Vanteru Pratap Reddy, a Congress leader, addressed a huge public gathering in Gajwel, as a part of his campaign for the upcoming Telangana Assembly Elections, on Tuesday.

Mr. Reddy, during the campaign, said, “I have sold out every property of mine and do not even own few yards of land to bury me after my death. I have lost two elections and all my property. I am here to serve you. We are locals from the villages of Gajwel whereas KCR hails from Siddipet.”

Pratap Reddy, while addressing the people, criticised K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR,) the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President. He said, while KCR is relaxing in his Rs. 300 crores’ home, the poor are still waiting for their 2 BHK flats.

Vanteru Pratap Reddy said, “KCR has not fulfilled any of his major promises and has snatched the lands of small, medium and big farmers on the pretext of taking up irrigation projects.”

Mr. Reddy also targeted T. Harish Rao, the TRS candidate representing the Siddipet constituency. With regard to this, Pratap Reddy said, “Harish has been camping in Gajwel for the past two months distributing money and liquor. Harish is not replying to the challenge thrown at him by me to explain how much worth property he had in 2001 and how did he become the owner of Rs. 10,000 crores worth property now. If I am wrong, let Harish make public the worth of his properties as on date.”

Nagma, a Congress leader, accompanied Vanteru Pratap Reddy and urged the public to vote for him, instead of KCR and T. Harish Rao. She greeted the public and delivered a long speech in which she said, “Vanteru’s victory will be your victory against dictatorial rule.”

Another star campaigner, Ghulam Nabi Azad, supported Vanteru Reddy. He also shared his experience about working with KCR.

Mr. Azad said, KCR and he were in the same organization, Youth Congress and back then, KCR was a common man. Mr. Azad went on to say, after KCR became the Chief Minister of Telangana, he changed and is now one of the richest people in India and owns cars, a farmhouse, hundreds of acres of land and properties worth crores of rupees. He emphasized on KCR’s properties and claimed, KCR is a corrupt politician.

Ghulam Nabi Azad said, “Do not give your future into the hands of such a corrupt politician.”

The Telangana elections are scheduled on the 7th of December and the counting of the votes will take place on the 11th of December.
