This temple is located in Pune and is also known for its wealthy Trust fund. The idol inside the temple is made of gold and is the most spectacular part of the temple. Worshipers from all over the country come to offer pujas every year. The temple’s trust fund is known for helping old people and children. The old age home called Pitashree was established and run by the temple’s trust.

 

3. Kanipakam Vinayaka Temple
This temple is in Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh also known as Sri Varasaki Vinayaka Swami Temple. This temple was built by Chola King Kulothinga Chola I. The temple is blessed with a black sculpture of Ganesha.

4. Dodda Ganapathi Temple
This temple is in Bengaluru and was constructed by Kempe Gowda I, who is also known as the founder of Bengaluru. The Ganesh statue in the temple is the star of the show, an 18 foot tall idol carved out of one single stone.

5. Shree Maha Ganapathi Kshethram

This temple is located in Kottarakkara in Kerela. Apart from Ganesh, the temple also worships Shiva, Parvati, Murugan, Ayyappan and Nagaraja. The Ganesh idol is made with special care and is worth every struggle you take to get there.

6. Shree Vinayaka Devaru Temple

This temple is in Idagunji which is a district in the Northern part of Karnataka. The temple can be dated back to 1500 years. Unlike other Ganesh statues, this one has only two hands, one holding a lotus and the other holding ‘Modhaka’ (an Indian sweet.)

7. Ucchi Pillayar Koil Temple

This temple is in Trichy in Tamil Nadu and was built as early as the 7th century. The Ucchi Pillayar Koil temple is situated on the top of a rock. The temple is also known as Rockfort Temple and houses idols of bother Ganesh and Shiva. The maintenance of the temple is taken care of by the Archaeological Department of India.

The Eight Ganesh Temples are located in different parts of the state Maharashtra. The temples are said to be self originated and are religiously alive according to some. This temple is located in Ratnagiri in Maharashtra. In Hindu belief idols must be kept faceing Eastwards. But in this temple, the idol is facing West. It also widely believed among the religious that the idols in the temple were self manifested.

10. Ganesh Tok
This temple is located in the North East state of Sikkim. The temple is on top of a hill 6,500 feet above ground level. This is the smallest temple on the list, it is so small that only one devotee can stand inside for darshan. Although it is small it is a beautiful temple and is an attractive tourist spot for many.
