A controversial statement given out by the Indian Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma stating that tourists would be given a lists of do’s and don’t’s at the airport which will include advising them not to wear skirts when visiting the country attracted much flak from the citizens.
Sharma, who has also been ridiculed before for his comments in the past, said “I was speaking about religious places, like temples. I did not comment on what women should wear or not. I am the father of two daughters, I cannot put a ban on what women wear.”
Twitter buzzed with attacking Sharma on his view taken towards tourism in India after the controversial comment was made and many were concerned that how will eminent tourists such as Kate Middleton and other tourists take this policy.
