The Parliament Budget Session 2022-2023 is all set to resume from the 14th of March, Monday. The second phase of the Union Budget would be conducted, following the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) protocols, at the Parliament, in Delhi.

It is to be noted, the first session of the Union Budget 2022-2023, started from the 29th of January, with the President of India Ram Nath Kovind’s speech.  On the 1st of February, Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman, the Union Finance Minister presented the Union Budget 2022-2023.  

According to sources, in the second phase of the Union Budget, the Indian Finance Ministry would present the budget for Jammu and Kashmir (union territory.)  An official statement released by the Union Government read, “Finance Minister to present a statement of estimated receipts and expenditure of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for the year 2022-23.”  

Furthermore, on the first day of the second phase of the union budget, the Indian National Congress (INC) leader Mr. K.C. Venugopal moved a business motion in Rajya Sabha to discuss the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.  In addition, the Shiv Sena Member of Parliament (MP) Ms. Priyanka Chaturvedi issued a Zero Hour Submission in the Rajya Sabha to discuss the depreciating value of the Indian Rupee.

In the second phase of the Union Budget, there would be an additional 19 hours sitting, and would begin from 11:00 A.M., and would continue till 6:00 P.M.  In total, there would be 19 sittings of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members, at the Parliament.

The second phase of the Union Budget Session would continue till the 8th of April 2022.
