On the 6th of October, Wednesday, the Central Government approved a bonus for railway employees for the financial year 2021-2022.
On Wednesday, Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, chaired a Union Cabinet meeting and gave a green signal for Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB.) The bonus would be equivalent to 78 days’ wages for all eligible non-gazetted railway employees. Approximately 11.56 lakh employees would be getting the PBL amount. In regard to this, the Central Government decided to release Rs. 1,984.73 crores. The PBL would be given to all employees except the Railway Protection Force and the Railway Protection Special Force personnel.
The developments of the Union Cabinet meeting was briefed to media by Mr. Anurag Thakur, the Information and Broadcasting Minister of India,
Mr. Anurag Thakur said the released PBL to each employee would be a driving force for their work and would motivate them to perform better. While the maximum payable amount to each eligible railway employee would be Rs. 17,951, the minimum amount is Rs. 7,000 for 78 days.
The amount is expected to be released soon, before Dussehra, which is going to be celebrated on the 15th of October.
