Indian Captain Virat Kohli will go down in history as the first Captain to score a century in each Test of a three match series. On Saturday afternoon, Indian skipper Virat Kohli and opener Murali Vijay knocked down the Sri Lankan bowlers.
The Indian cricket team was already dominating the series and the last two matches. They managed to make the crowd in Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi roar in support for India.
Kohli did not just make one record making achievement, the Indian skipper also completed his 5000 Test runs. This made Kohli the fourth fastest Indian to score 5000 in Test runs. Sunil Gavaskar, Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar were the first 3 Indian cricketers to accomplish this record. Kohli will also remember this match as it is his 52nd International 100 which is quite an achievement.
Murali Vijay who batted alongside Kohli managed to score his second consecutive century. The duo celebrated with a little jig as Vijay hit his ninth boundary to reach his 11th Test century.
