WHO Says Dexamethasone, Life Saviour Drug For Critical Covid-19 Patients

Due to the increasing number of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases, the World Health Organization (WHO) called for steroid dexamethasone production.

After the British Government conducted clinical trials of the drugs as a saviour for the Coronavirus patients, the WHO called for a rapid  production of the steroid dexamethasone.

The trial was conducted on random 2,100 hospitalised coronavirus patients, and about 4,300 hospitalised COVID-19 patients who were under the careunit at hospitals. 

The drug helped to cure the critical patients of COVID-19 reducing death risk. 

Tedros Adhanom, the Chief of the WHO, said the use of steroid dexamethasone would be used in critically ill Coronavirus patients. 

Globally, Coronavirus cases crossed 9 million cases. 

Till date the total number of cases globally are 9,162,375 and death cases are 473,087.
