Today, the Lok Sabha Speaker, Sumitra Mahajan suspended six Congress lawmakers for five days. The Congress lawmakers were suspended for their ‘highly unbecoming’ behavior. The lawmakers in the parliament were attempting to raise the issue of mob lynching.

The Congress MPs tore pieces of paper and threw it at the Speaker’s chair.

Ms. Muhajan was angered by their behavior and said, “The entire country should watch this…Show it, let them watch.”

After the Lok Sabha reconvened at 2 P.M., the speaker announced the suspension of the Congress MPs.

Sonia Gandhi has decided to a sit down (dharna) in front of Mahatma Gandhi’s statue to protest the suspension.

Sumitra Mahajan was constrained from naming the MPs for their disrespectful behavior.

In her order, Ms. Mahajan mentioned the MPs took papers from the Lok Sabha secretariat table and tore them up and threw them at her.

Ms. Mahajan was disappointed with their behavior after she had agreed to listen to the opposition on crimes against Dalits.

Parliamentary Minister, Ananth Kumar said, “If the Opposition want to speak, they should give notice. The entire House condemns such action. We don’t accept such action from the Congress party. This is shameful and action should be taken against the members who threw papers towards the Chair.”
