CM KCR: Old City Neglected In United Andhra Pradesh

During a meeting with the Chief Minister of Telangana K. Chandrashekar Rao and AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi, the CM stated the Old City was neglected during united Andhra Pradesh. The CM further added he would ensure it was not the same in Telangana. KCR announced infrastructure plans costing Rs. 1,000 crores for the Old City.

KCR said he would be the one to lay the foundation to make the area more flood resistant, free from drainage water and solve drinking water problems. Apart from infrastructure work the CM directed officials to beautify and clean the Musi River which will cost Rs. 1,600. The CM also called for the completion of the metro rail in the area which will cost Rs. 1,200 crores.  

The detailed meeting at Pragathi Bhavan on Monday was along with AIMIM Chief Owaisi and Ministers K. T. Rama Rao, DGP Mahender Reddy, GHMC Commissioner B. Janardhan Reddy with others.

KCR has also been a man of action and his plans for the Old City comes as a relief to the residents who have suffered from bad roads and plumbing for over 30 years. For an immediate change, the CM directed his ministers to allocate 16.5 TMC of water from the Krishna in three phases and 10 TMC of water from the Godavari. This move will ease the major drinking water problem faced by the residents in the Old City.
