Heavy school bags have always been a problem for students and now one such resulted in a fatal incident. A 14 year old girl from Telangana collapsed in her school premises and suffered a fatal injury on her forehead.

At around 8:45 A.M., the ninth standard student from Kautilya High School in Kareemabad was walking down the stairs with her bag on her shoulders.

The CCTV footage in the school shows the girl carrying the bag weighing several kgs. The girl is then seen collapsing to the ground.

An official from the school stated, “The girl collapsed right outside her classroom after she climbed the stairs. Immediately we took her to the in house physician, who checked her pulse and said that her blood pressure was dropping. Following this, we rushed her to the MGM Hospital.”

He further added, “We immediately rushed her to the hospital, but the doctors declared her brought dead.”

The parents of the girl have accused the school authorities for their daughter’s death. They were quoted saying, “She did not have any prior health problems or any such thing. The school delayed in providing her treatment, which resulted in her death.”

The school principal K. Sridhar reported the girl suffered from dehydration leading to her death.

An Official from Mills Colony police station said, “The father of the girl filed a complaint around 12 P.M., on Monday, following which we registered a case under Section 174 of the CrPC.”

He also reported, “A post mortem has been conducted at the MGM Hospital in Warangal. Once we get the report, we will proceed further, and take legal action.”
