Federal Front: KCR Meets Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav  

Chief Minister of Telangana K. Chandrasekhar Rao met Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav at Pragathi Bhavan today. The two leaders ate lunch together and then held a joint press conference.

At the conference, KCR asked people not to worry about the past government that failed India. He said, “In a month or two, a full agenda will be placed before the country. One man, or one party cannot make such an agenda. Those who come with us will join us.”

KCR was questioned yet again about who he would push as the candidate for Prime Minister. To this the CM stressed, “It is not a political move, not a short sighted one, not aimed at the 2019 elections.”

He further added, “The entire effort is for the future of the country. Many have to be convinced about the need for a qualitative change in politics. I have been trying my best to bring about a qualitative change in Indian politics and also in the process of governance.”

Mr. Yadav spent over five hours with the Telangana Chief Minister discussing regional politics. At the press conference Yadav said,  “We have been in touch over phone for about a month. What KCR is proposing is different. This is not a political alliance.”

Yadav made it clear he was going to support KCR’s plans. He also said for this to work the Country needs some political will. He was quoted saying, “Without this, you cannot get water through taps, cannot give water to farmers.” Hinting at the Telangana Government’s Mission Bhagiratha and irrigation projects.
