The days have come where human and animal cruelty has become a hobby for psychopaths. On Sunday, 30 men went on a rampage caning 50 stray dogs. The people are said to be from a gated community in LB Nagar, Hyderabad. The canines were badly beaten up and left bleeding profusely. They further suffered severe injuries at the hands of these psychopaths.
An Honorary Animal Welfare Officer and an animals rights activist Pravallika said, “These dogs were regularly chased and beaten by the residents, barring a few animal lovers in the gated community. But yesterday, they took it too far, and ganged up and went on a rampage. They beat the dogs with rods and stones, injuring them fatally.” Pravallika further adopted all the 50 canines and confirmed the dogs are vaccinated. She added birth control measures were also taken to prevent them from breeding and increasing in number.
Pravallika stated two of her volunteers rushed to stop the men but the men harassed and verbally abused the volunteers. Pravallika said, “Two girls who volunteer with us saw these men beating up the dogs up and tried to stop them, but were harassed. They said that instead of beating these dogs, we should beat these women up.”
The incident was reported at the Vanasthalipuram Police Station and a case has been filed. It is said the Policemen initially hesitated to file a case leading to the volunteers approaching Maneka Gandhi, the Union Cabinet Minister for Women and Child Development and animal rights activist. The Police were forced to file a case against the community association at Sahara Estates. The cases filed include animal cruelty and woman harassment.
The issue still remains unconfirmed whether the residents of the gated community in LB Nagar hired men to cane the dogs or if the act was executed without any external help.
