In a horrifying incident a 24 year old management student in Hyderabad committed suicide during a video call. The police reported Haneesha Chowdary hung herself at her hostel while talking to her boyfriend.
On Sunday, Haneesha was on a call with Dakshit Patel who ran to her rescue after realizing what she had done. Patel broke the door of her room and rushed her to the hospital. But Haneesha lost her life before reaching the hospital.
A senior police explained, “We don’t have any confirmation that she committed suicide during the video call. However, she had spoken to her friend on video call before taking the extreme step. Her friend told us that the victim had said that she would hang herself. He also told us that he saw her hanging.”
Haneesha originally from Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh lived in a hostel in Hyderabad. According to the boyfriend Patel, Haneesha was angry at him for refusing her from attending a wedding. Haneesha told him she would hang herself and Patel rushed to her hostel to help.
Haneesha’s parents filed a complaint and the girl’s phone has been sent for forensic examination. The police reported the investigation is still ongoing and more details are awaited.
