Hyderabad citizens were faced with a hot and humid day on Tuesday as temperatures crossed 40 degrees Celsius. The day was a shock to most Hyderabadis as the Indian Meteorological Department issued a two day thunderstorm warning.

The Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) reported Secunderabad, Ameerpet, Patancheruvu, Musheerabad and Bahadurpura areas witnessed temperatures exceeding 40.3 degrees Celsius.

The entire State felt the raging heat as the temperature hovered between 35 and 40 degrees Celsius all day long. Meanwhile, the IMD issued a thunderstorm warning for the next two days.

The warning read, “Thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Adilabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Medak, Kamareddy, Sangareddy, Vikarabad, Mahbubnagar, Jogulamba Gadwal, Wanaparty, Nagarkurnool and Rangareddy of Telangana.”

The IMD also stated light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely in Hyderabad.
