Hyderabad To Celebrate International World Bicycle Day

The International World Bicycle Day will be celebrated in the city of Hyderabad this year. The United Nations declared the 3rd of June as International World Bicycle Day which is observed across India.

Recently, the UN General Assembly in New York adopted this resolution to celebrate and promote awareness of cycling.

On Tuesday, the only Indian on the Board of World Cycling Alliance (WCA) D. V. Manohar said the WCA along with the European Cyclist Federation have been campaigning for the UN to designate WBD since 2016.

Mr. Manohar further added, “There will be host of cycling events in the city (Hyderabad) to celebrate first World Bicycle Day on June 3. Cycling is gaining momentum in India and will revolutionize the way we move in future.”

The WCA President Manfred Neun said the UN declared the cycling day to promote cycling in the world.
