The Hyderabad Traffic Police, yesterday, issued a traffic advisory ahead of New Year’s Eve.

The Traffic Police advised the public to avoid the Tank Bund road, Necklace Road and NTR Marg on New Year’s Eve (today,) as the roads will be blocked for vehicles from 10:00 P.M., to 2:00 A.M., on the 31st of December, 2018 and the 1st of January, 2019.

The vehicles coming from VV Statue toward the NTR Marg and Necklace Road will be diverted to Khairatabad and Raj Bhavan Road. The traffic coming from BRK Bhavan toward NTR Marg will be diverted to Iqbal Minar and Lakdikapul.

The vehicles travelling from Liberty Junction toward Secunderabad will be diverted to the GHMC Office Y Junction, toward BRK Bhavan, Telugu Thalli, Iqbal Minar, Ravindra Bharathi and Lakdikapul.

The traffic from Khairatabad Market, coming toward Necklace Rotary, will be asked to change the route at Khairatabad toward the Meera Talkies lane. The traffic coming from the Nallagutta Railway Bridge will be diverted toward Karbala Maidan or Minister Road. The vehicles from Secunderabad will be diverted at the Sailing Club toward Kavadiguda X Roads, Lower Tank Bund, Kattamaisamma Temple and Ashok Nagar, RTC X Roads.

The Traffic Police also issued a strict warning regarding drunk driving on New Year’s Eve. The warning was given to curb accidents and drunk driving cases in the City, which rise on New Year’s Eve. The police will be on the lookout for people indulging in drunk driving, rash driving and triple riding on two wheeler vehicles. Strict action will be taken against those who violate any of the traffic rules.

All the flyovers in Hyderabad will be blocked from 10:00 P.M., to 2:00 A.M., on the 31st of December, 2018 and the 1st of January, 2019.
