KCR Launches Much Awaited Rythu Bandhu Scheme

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao launched the much awaited Rythu Bandhu scheme for farmers. KCR distributed Pattadar Passbooks at the Karimnagar district.

At the launch, KCR said, “All our initiatives launched in Karimnagar district have been successful since our days of Telangana movement. The schemes also are going to change the future course of the country.”

A huge group of farmers gathered at Dharmarajupalle in Karimnagar district where KCR addressed the crowd. At the address, KCR passed a resolution demanding 25% hike in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for the crops. KCR was quoted as saying, “We have water, power and investment. Now we will fight with the Centre for good MSP for all crops.”

Out of the 2.9 crore acres of land in Telangana, 2.3 crore acres of land have been verified. The authorities announced 1.4 crore acres of land as cultivable land. KCR said, “Whether they take up cultivation or not, the government will issue cheques as well as passbooks to all 58 lakh eligible farmers for this season.”

The Rythu Bandhu Scheme is a support plan for the farmers well being. This support scheme will provide an investment of Rs. 8000 per acre of land. This means Rs. 4000 per acre during monsoon season and Rs. 4000 during the summer season.

A total of Rs. 12,000 crores would be invested by the Government to provide farmers with investment support.
