KTR Will Quit Politics If TRS Loses Power In Telangana

The Telangana IT Minister K. T. Rama Rao stated he would quit politics if his party TRS fails to stay in power in the State. KTR went on to confirm his father K. Chandrashekar Rao would continue as the Chief Minister in the coming term. Many have speculated KTR would contest as the CM as KCR concentrates on Nation politics.

Dismissing these claims, KTR said, “There are no such plans and I am not overzealous. Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao will continue as the Chief Minister in the coming term too.”

KTR also warned the BJP that their Hindutva agenda would fail in Telangana. Adding that the 2019 elections would be one side with TRS emerging with a significant majority.

During an informal chat with the media on Friday, KTR said, “The BJP and Congress are feeling suffocated as they are not finding any footing in the State.” Reporters questioned KTR about TRS being the B team of the BJP but the Minister refuted these claims. He said, “The Chief Minister supported the Centre after Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured to usher in major changes through demonetization and other measures. But the Prime Minister stopped midway.”

He further added, “Neither Congress president Rahul Gandhi nor Prime Minister Narendra Modi were the bosses of TRS. People of Telangana are.” At the chat, KTR attacked the Congress on their promises of unemployment allowances and loan waiver to farmers.

KTR was quoted saying, ‘The Congress party has been making desperate attempts to give false promises. Let the Congress announce what is the criteria for unemployment allowance. The TRS government is focusing on providing jobs, not to give (a) dole to jobless youth. We have filled 30,000 jobs. We will keep our promise of giving one lakh jobs in this term.”
