IT Minister K. T. Rama Rao’s recent tweet moved and inspired a 10th standard student to donate Rs. 50,000 to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF.) On Tuesday morning the student gave the cheque to KTR.

The student Vishruth Devireddy saved up his pocket money which amounted to Rs. 50,000. Devireddy initially planned to use the money to buy a phone after months of saving. However, the student came across KTR’s tweet on the 23rd of April and changed his mind.

KTR’s tweet read, “Through CMRF so far more than 1.2 lakh families have received assistance in emergency situations. Nearly Rs.800 Cr has been spent in the last 46 months. Those who would like to contribute can write a cheque to ‘Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, Telangana State.”

Once Devireddy realized how much more important the relief fund was to one lakh families he decided to make the contribution. Vishruth Devireddy said, “Seeing the way ‘Ram uncle’ is helping people, I thought I can get the phone at a later stage. Right now, the money which I had can help a poor person who is sick and he/she can get better.”

KTR was moved by the gesture and tweeted pictures with the student noting the change Devireddy made.
