Mumbai experienced heavy rainfalls on Tuesday that caused the city and nearby areas to be drowned in water. The problem only seems to be getting worse with the MeT department predicting another 24 hours of heavy showers.

The rain has been falling continuously since Monday and continued on till Tuesday. Officials have said that this is the heaviest rain the city has seen since 2005 when the heavy rain caused massive floods in the city.

The Civic Authorities sent out a report urging all the people to remain indoors due to the intensity of the rains. But many who were already commuting had to travel through dirty brown water that flooded the roads.

The roads were waterlogged and caused snail paced traffic in the heart of the city on Monday and Tuesday.

The city has geared up for the worst with three teams of National Disaster Response Force stationed at Mumbai. Authorities have brought two additional teams from Pune to Mumbai as a precautionary method.
