Chief Minister of Telangana K. Chandrasekhar Rao announced the date for cheque distribution under the Rythu Bandhu Scheme. The scheme is an investment support for agriculture which will be launched on the 10th of May.

At a meeting with district collectors at Pragathi Bhavan, the CM discussed the Rs. 8000 per acre for farmers in the State. Under the scheme, farmers will receive cheques and passbooks based on the weather conditions and crop growth. A total of 58 lakh cheques and passbooks will be distributed in May.

The scheme will cover 10,323 villages as 2,762 teams are sent out to distribute the passbooks and cheques. The CM stated there was no room for error in implementing this investment scheme. He further stated the revenue team spent 100 days visiting each village and developing the passbooks according to each farmers’ land.

KCR also said the scheme would be completed at the moment all the farmers are in possession of the passbooks and cheques. The CM said farmers struggle to mobilize investment to successfully grow crops. To end this long standing dilemma of the farmers the Government have decided to provide financial support. KCR also said the official machinery and structure of the scheme will leave no stone unturned to make this a huge success.
