Social media went crazy with posts warning the citizens of Hyderabad to get ready for traffic nightmares with the upcoming Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES.) But the Hyderabad police requested citizens not to fret as the traffic will be minimal.
November is a month full of high profile events from the inauguration of the Hyderabad Metro Rail and the GES. The police confirmed the diversions would be kept to a minimum and traffic would be controlled.
The officials also informed the main VVIP movements will happen from the 28th to 29th of November. The Hyderabad police were quoted saying, “Road Commuters in Hyderabad need not panic. We will have VVIP movements only on afternoon of November 28 afternoon to morning of November 29. We are also requesting the security agencies to take those routes which would cause minimum inconvenience to the public and they have readily consented to it. However, from 28th afternoon to 29th afternoon there would be VVIP movements in ORR, Gachibowli, Miyapur and Madhapur corridor. Other than that rest of the area’s traffic is likely to be normal. Commuters are requested not to panic over the social media posts.”
The post that put the citizens of Hyderabad in panic warned them of the upcoming events. The Vice President’s visit on the 22nd of November, A.R. Rahman’s concert on the 26th of November, the HMR inauguration and the 2017 GES from the 28th to 30th of November.
