Telangana Finance Minister Announces State Budget For 2018-19

The Telangana Finance Minister Etela Rajender presented the Budget for 2018-19. This will the State Government’s last Budget till the general elections next year.

Mr. Rajender announced the State Budget as Rs. 1,74,453 crores. He further stated the revenue expenditure for this year is expected at Rs. 1,25,646 crores. The State’s revenue for the current financial year is expected at Rs. 73,751 crores.  

To allocate subsidies for farmers Rs. 12,000 crores will be spent. In farming, Rs. 500 crores will be dedicated to crop insurance and Rs. 167 crores for building micro irrigation.

Just like last year, the State Government will dedicate Rs. 25,000 crores towards the irrigation projects. This amount will be used to complete the pending irrigation projects including the Palamuru Ranga Reddy Project.

To better Shadi Mubarak and Kalyana Lakshmi Schemes Rs. 1,450 crores will be allocated. For the 2 BHK Housing Project Rs. 2,600 crores will be given. To develop temples in Yadagirigutta and Bhadradri Rs. 250 crores and Rs. 150 crores will be supplied. The Government will give Rs. 1,790 crores towards women and children welfare schemes.  

Three acres of land will be distributed to landless Dalits with Rs. 1,470 crores funding from the Government. To develop Backward Classes Rs. 1,000 crores will be given to the Most Backward Class (MBC) Corporation. The Mission Bhagiratha scheme will be given Rs. 1,800 crores to provide piped water to all households in the State.

The Telanganaku Haritha Haram scheme will be allotted Rs. 1,166 crores to make a greener State. For the health sector, the Government announced Rs. 7,370 crores while the educational sector was allotted Rs. 2,800 crores.
