Shashi Tharoor, the Congress Member of Parliament (M. P.) from Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram constituency alleged attack on his constituency office by Bharatiya Janata Party (B. J. P) Yuva Morcha members on Monday, July 16. In a Twitter post, he wrote that his office walls, doors and signs were smeared with black oil.
According to Tharoor’s allegation, the B. J. P. youth wing “vandals” also “drove away innocent citizens waiting with their petitions.” The youth of the B. J. P. outfit also put up banners and roared slogans asking Tharoor to go to Pakistan. However, Tharoor was not present in the office during the act of vandalism.
The incident takes place after the Congress M. P. made a comment on the working of the B. J. P. and R. S. S. He said India would turn into a Hindu Pakistan if B. J. P was re-elected to power in 2019.
According to the B. J. P district President S. Suresh, the incident was a retaliation against the wrong statement made by Tharoor. He justified the vandalism as “a natural protest because of his erroneous statement.
1/2 Today @YUVAMORCHABJP vandals attacked my constituency office in Thiruvananthapuram. They poured black engine oil on signs, doors, walls & gate, drove away innocent citizens waiting with their petitions, put up offensive banners & shouted slogans asking me to go to Pakistan.

2/2 We have all been warned. The BJP’s answer to the simple question “have you given up the dream of a Hindu Rashtra?” is apparently vandalism & violence. That is the face they have shown inThiruvananthapuram today. Most Hindus will say these Sanghi goondas do not represent us.
