On Friday, TRS MP B. Vinod Kumar said the party leadership would make a decision about supporting the no confidence motion moved by the TDP. The no confidence motion targeting the Modi Government is because the Center denied a Special Category Status for Andhra Pradesh.
The TRS MP explained Chief Minister and Party President KCR would make the decision after the motion is admitted by the Speaker. Kumar further added KCR would lend his support to the issue raised in the motion and not the parties that moved it.
TRS Floor Leader Jithender Reddy was quoted saying, “We are fighting in Parliament for fulfillment of assurances made to Telangana State on the floor of the House, and our main concern is to get maximum benefits for the State.”
This comes after the TDP initiated a no confidence motion against the Modi Government in the Lok Sabha. The opposition YSRCP led by Jagan Reddy also moved a no confidence motion against the Central Government. The two parties were far from getting enough number of votes to make the move in the Parliament. This caused a commotion in the House pushing Speaker Sumitra Mahajan to adjourn the Parliament till Monday.
The TDP also exited the BJP led NDA earlier this week. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu stated this was in protest against the Center for not keeping its promises made after bifurcation.
