On Sunday, an NGO reached Madhapur Gachibowli road in Hyderabad to relocate 30 trees.

The GHMC is at present constructing a flyover and underpass that was mentioned in the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP) for Raheja Mindspace and Biodiversity Park.

The Corporation gave the NGO, Dhruvansh the permission to relocate the 30 trees.

After the NGO arrived with volunteers they realized their real task wasn’t uprooting the trees but not getting shocked in the process.

Founder of Dhruvansh, Madhulika Chowdary said, “There were electric cables around the tree roots and the heavy machine used for tree translocation could have cut the wires during the process resulting in electrocution. The engineers executing the SRDP project checked the cables using an apparatus and informed that there was high electric field near the trees. We could not take a chance by going ahead with the translocation”

The NGO immediately informed the GHMC officials about the situation. But the work had to be postponed as the officials did not come to the site.

The organization will be relocating 30 avenue trees to Narsingi and Manikonda.
