In a shocking incident, a group of drunk men dancing on the road in Bengaluru assaulted two men and one woman for no apparent reason. The CCTV footage caught the incident on New Year’s Eve in Bengaluru at around 12:35 A.M.

The video shows the drunk men dancing and then a bike with two men and women approach the crowd. The men go on a rampage and start beating up the men on the bike pushing them off the vehicle.

The incident took place at 6th Cross Motappapalya in Indiranagar has created a massive outrage in the city. After the police saw the footage they registered a suo moto complaint. The police arrested two men in connection with the assault Ambareesh alias Khaki and Lokesh alias Gudde.

Additional Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh reported, “We have taken suo motu case and two men are in custody. More arrests will take place soon. We will also look into how this incident took place despite the security arrangements on New Year’s Eve.”

According to the police, the accused have stated that they attacked the men because the bike touched their legs. Even though the woman repeatedly apologized to the drunk men but they did not stop.

The police informed that the gang is made of rowdy sheeters. They are also being accused of stealing a bike after harassing the three people. The bike is yet to be recovered, reported the police.

The police were quoted saying, “We have watched the CCTV footage. For almost an hour before the incident, the gang of men were dancing and drinking on the road. They were harassing whoever passed by. They even harassed a few people who were passing by in a white colored car. Besides, they are seen catcalling women also.” The police source further stated the men were also threatening to break beer bottles on people passing through the area.

The people of Bengaluru are anger and shocked the incident took place despite the heavy police security deployed on New Year’s Eve. The Bengaluru police were on high alert this year after multiple cases of harassment emerged in the city over New Year’s Eve.
