In a shocking case, a Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) activist P. Srinivas Reddy was caught on camera brutally beating his wife. The video shows the woman crying as her husband slaps her and drops her to the ground.
The victim, Sangeetha married Srinivas Reddy four years ago. But when Sangeetha had a baby girl, Srinivas was angry and dumped her for another woman. The activist went on to get married to another woman, Sangeetha was shocked and went to question her husband when the incident took place.
On Sunday, Sangeetha went to Srinivas’ house along with her brothers and mother demanding justice. Sangeetha tried to confront the second wife when Srinivas stopped her from entering. Srinivas and his family members ganged up against Sangeetha and repeatedly struck her.
The TRS man was least bothered of being videotaped and continue to assault his wife. Sangeetha placed a harassment complaint against her husband. The Medipally police have booked a case under Section 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or any means.) The police took immediate action and arrested Srinivas Reddy on Monday. He has been remanded to 14 days in judicial custody.
Sangeetha has filed a case of domestic violence against her husband once before but no action was taken by the police.
