Annu Rani became the first Indian to qualify for the women’s javelin throw finals in the World Athletics Championships.
Annu Rani created a national record of 62.43 m, the best attempt in javelin throw in the World Athletics Championships.
Ms. Rani came third in Group A and secured a place to play in the finals, which are scheduled to be held on the 1st of October in Doha.
The previous record of Annu Rani was 62.34 m, which she broke after she threw the iron spear with a new record of 62.43 m.
Annu Rani, 27 years old, was selected for the finals as the 5th best performer of the qualification round.
