The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI,) on the 29th of August, announced the Indian squad which will play against South Africa in the T20 International (T20I) series.
The T20I series against South Africa is scheduled to begin from the 15th of September.
The T20I series will be played in Dharamsala, on the 15th of September, Mohali on the 18th of September and Bengaluru on the 22nd of September.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni is not a part of the Indian squad for the series, as he is in the United States (U.S.,) for an event of Chennai Super Kings. Young wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant and all rounder Hardik Pandya are included in the team of 15 players against South Africa.
The BCCI did not select some of the most experienced players like Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal and Bhuvneshwar Kumar and gave a chance to the new players instead.
The Indian Team against South Africa includes Virat Kohli (Captain,) Rohit Sharma (Vice Captain,) K.L. Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Rishabh Pant (Wicket Keeper,) Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Krunal Pandya, Washington Sundar, Rahul Chahar, Khaleel Ahmed, Deepak Chahar and Navdeep Saini.
