The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC,) constituted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI,) will soon interview the shortlisted candidates for the post of the Indian Cricket Team’s Coach.

According to sources, the interviews are scheduled a day after Independence Day, on the 16th of August.

A source close to the interview process, who wished to remain anonymous, said, “The meeting was initially set to take place on the 13th and 14th of August, but after shortlisting the candidates, it has come to the fore that around six candidates fit the bill for the position of the head coach and thus, one day of interviews should be enough.”  He further added, “Some paperwork remains and that needs to be completed before the CAC can start the process of interviewing the eligible candidates. Don’t see the process happening before the 15th of August.”

The panel of 3 members consists of Anshuman Gaikwad, Shantha Rangaswamy and Kapil Dev.

After scrutinising all the applications, so far, the Committee finalised 6 candidates, whose interviews will be taken on the 16th of August.

The shortlisted candidates are Ravi Shastri, Robin Singh, Lalchand Rajput, Tom Moody, Mike Hesson and Phil Simmons.

The Cricket Advisory Committee will conduct the interviews at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai.

Stay tuned for further updates.
