Team India played tremendously breaking the 50 year old jinx of not winning a Test match at The Oval Stadium in England. Led by Indian Cricket Team Captain, Mr. Virat Kohli, the team of players created history and made India proud. The last win of India in a test series at the, Oval was in 1971, when Ajit Wadekar was the captain of the then Indian Cricket Team.

In the five match test series against England, Team India scored 466 runs and won by 157 runs against England. With this, India is leading after winning 2 matches of the three matches held. With this, 4 of 5 matches concluded on the 6th of September. As of now, India is leading with a score 2-1 against team England.

Mr. Sourav Ganguly, the President of the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI,) took to Twitter and congratulated the Indian cricket team for their historic victory. His tweet read, “Great show ..The skill is the difference but the biggest difference is the absorbing power of pressure..Indian cricket is far ahead then the rest @BCCI.”

Mr. Sachin Tendulkar also expressed happiness and said, “What a comeback! The boys just kept bouncing back after every setback. What a way to stamp authority on the last day when England were 77/0. Way to go guys! Let’s make it 3-1. #ENGvIND.”

Mr. Jay Shah, the Secretary of the BCCI posted, “If Lord’s was special, today’s win at The Oval is spectacular. #TeamIndia thrives on challenges and loves to overcome them. Congratulations to the entire group for an incredible performance. @Jaspritbumrah93’s journey to 100 Test wickets has been phenomenal #ENGvIND.”

Twitter users, politicians, celebrities and others also posted tweets and congratulated team India with #ENGvIND.”

Rohit Sharma, a team member of the test series squad was declared as the Man of the Match for his tremendous performance in the 4th test match. However, he believed that Shardul Thakur deserves the Man of the Match title for his all rounder performance. Rohit Sharma said, “I thought Shardul’s was a match-winning effort. To be honest, he deserved the Man of the Match as well for the performance he put. A crucial breakthrough for the team when England were 100 without loss, getting that crucial breakthrough was very important and then getting the wicket of Joe Root as well, he came in and got the wicket.” He continued and said, “He wants to prove a point that he can bat and can give us momentum-changing innings as well. Yes, I got the Man of the Match, but I really feel he should have been part of that as well.”

Meanwhile, The final test match is scheduled to begin from the 10th of September and would continue till the 14th of September. The final test match would be held at Old Trafford stadium.
