With the upcoming Tokyo Olympics 2020, Indian Olympic players like P.V. Sindhu, Atanu Das, Tarundeep Rai and others started their training for the matches.
Ms. P.V. Sindhu started her training with Sai Praneet, her trainer at the Tokyo Games Village. They started to train along with coach Park Tae Sang in Tokyo. Besides P.V. Sindhu, athletes like Sharath Kamal and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran, men’s doubles pair Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, archers like Atanu Das, Tarundeep Rai, Praveen Jadhav, and Deepika Kumari also started their training at the Olympic Games Village.
The Olympic Games Village in Japan is the place where all the Olympic players across the world would stay and participate in the Olympics 2020.
Players representing India in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics left for Japan on the 17th of July. From India, a total of 119 athletes are participating in various games at Olympics 2020. They departed from Indira Gandhi International Airport after being tested for the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.) It is to be noted, all players were negative for the deadly Wuhan virus.
The Tokyo Olympics are scheduled to be held from the 23rd of July 2021 and would end on the 8th of August 2021.
In 2020, the Tokyo Olympics were postponed due to the ongoing Wuhan virus pandemic. In 2021, the Tokyo Olympics are being organised, and the name Tokyo Olympics 2020 is still retained for branding reasons.
