IPL 2018: Five Invaluable Players In This Cricket Season

The Indian Premier League 2018 is all set to begin tomorrow and here is a list of five invaluable players playing this season. These players also were fought over for during the auction for being valuable assets during this year’s tournament.

1. Rohit Sharma (Mumbai Indians): Rohit Sharma has been part of the Mumbai Indians from the very beginning. He has guided the team to victory not once or twice but thrice. This year the Mumbai Indians franchise managed to retain the player by paying a whopping Rs. 15 crores at the IPL auction.

2. Ben Stokes (Rajasthan Royals): Stokes showed his worth while playing for Rising Pune Supergiants last year. He was titled the costliest buy of 2017 and was declared Man of the Match thrice in the last IPL season. He was bought by the Rajasthan Royals for Rs. 12.50 crores. RR will be returning to the league after being banned for match fixing.

3. Gautam Gambhir (Delhi Daredevils): Gambhir has been one of the leading players in the IPL. He has shuffled through a few teams but proved to be invaluable to the Kolkata Knight Riders. Unfortunately, the Delhi Daredevils managed to snag the cricketer for Rs. 2.8 crores for this IPL.

4. Yusuf Pathan (SunRisers Hyderabad): Pathan has a brilliant reputation for his batting and bowling skills. The cricketer who helped KKR win the IPL in 2012 and 2014 has proved to be an important player in the tournament. But this year the SunRisers Hyderabad managed to buy the cricketer for Rs. 1.9 crores.

5. Rashid Khan (SunRisers Hyderabad): This 18 year old leg spinner from Afghanistan proved his worth for the Hyderabad team in the 2016 tournament. The franchise paid Rs. 4 crores for the player which raised a few eyebrows. However, Khan showed his value as time went by and the team retained him in 2017. Last year, Khan took a total of 17 wickets which thrilled the franchise to retain him the third time for Rs. 9 crores.
